Seldom do customers by buy books which they are scared will fall apart when they pick them up. If the book cannot be read, would make an ugly gift or cannot even be identified on a shelf because the spine is missing and the cover soiled, then there's a good chance that it will sit taking up valuable room on the sales floor, or worse, unnoticed and unadvertised in the backroom, forever.
Traditionally, binding and conservation has been prohibitively expensive to books of middling value; books which have in them locked up profit which would take a lifetime or longer to shift. Often they are not even worth selling online because the fees outweigh the value. We work with local Shropshire book dealers to allow them to circulate their old stock and make room for more.
One way cost can be minimised is by working in bulk; The more you have for us, the better the deal will be. Our work is always archival quality, strong and neatly presentable. We look to get this kind of work in and out fast and typically will come to you to both drop off and collect jobs.
We are always happy to come to you to see what you've got and how best we can help you. Ultimately, this is an entirely flexible arrangement and we hope to establish a smooth and fruitful relationship with each of our clients. Please don't hesitate to contact us.
Many useful and valuable books lie buried in shops and libraries, unknown and unexamined, unless some lucky compiler opens them by chance, and finds an easy spoil of wit and learning.
Books of high value as part of a low bulk workload, as determined by us, are exempt from this service and instead will be charged at the normal rate.
Conversely, we are always happy to help our loyal patrons with something less valuable every now and then, as part of a larger ongoing workload. The last thing we want to do is over charge for a book that isn't worth the cost.
